my 1st (and prolly last) ASoc event

ASoc stands for Accounting Society. When they first started out, they didn't have a name. So they organised a naming competition. The winning entry was 'ASoc' and he walked away with S$100 cash prize. but i really can't complain. i could not have been more creative. Anyway, the name stuck.

This evening's event was really a get-together (networking) as well as the launch of the new mag, Accentuate. It was a pleasant evening. And u noe it's definitely a party of accounting students when:

1) nothing very spectacular happened.

2) given the options of dressing according to the theme or simply wearing white, most obeyed and wore white, the rest came in normal clothes. No one followed the theme.

3) the station games included "who can type the fastest" and "who can build a taller tower of chocolate coins (similar to Jenga)"

4) at the door everyone was given a card. on it written the name of one of the Big 4 accounting firms

5) u need to form groups of 4, a combination of all the Big 4, before u are allowed to proceed to the food

6) the invitation said "from 5pm till late" but everyone left after the lucky draw.
